Where the name came from

Lu + Do → Ludo → Ludus, Latin for play. A short post about two people, one word, and deciding to treat all of it like a game worth losing at.

PLACEHOLDER body. The name came out of a long walk. We’d been calling the project ten different things and none of them stuck. Then we wrote our names on a serviette, drew an arrow between them, and there it was: Ludo in Portuguese, Ludus in Latin, the same word in both — play, the game, the practice of doing something for the doing.

We named it on the walk back to the studio. Two days later we made our first thing under it. We’ve been making things under it since.
