Make art from your inner self — reach a state so in touch with play that the work has no choice but to come out.
Have you ever made something you were proud of and never shown anyone? That question is where Ludus began — back when all of this was still a dream. We realised we were better artists in that playful state: free from sorrow, from judgment, from fear. It doesn’t mean not caring, or not being critical — those matter, they’re part of being an artist. We want to make work that’s thoughtful. We’ve just learned the best way there is to stay honest, playful and intuitive.
Everything feels cluttered now — art takes a thousand forms, and real expression gets buried under them. We want you to know there’s more than what you’ve been told. There is deep, profound work out there — you just have to go looking for it.
Fear.
The self-censorship that stops you putting yourself out there — the quiet voice that says wait until you’re ready. You never will.
Play.
The childlike spark — the first time you pick up oil, or something you’ve never touched before. Made by people who take it seriously.
LUIS & DORA
Two artists, one studio. Luis makes the first mark fast and worries about it later; Dora writes the long bits and decides what’s true. Together they paint, record, write and run experiments — and keep the studio’s one rule taped above the sink: show it before you’re ready.
